The Eltermere Cheese Board

A classic Cumbrian cheeseboard to include four varieties of textures, colours, tastes and milk types from the local area.

Blengdale Blue – Cumberland Dairy
A soft creamy almost spreadable blue is mild and creamy with a little tang.

 Old Applebian – Appleby Creamer, Eden Valley

A crumbly, open textured cheese with a pronounced, lemony flavour and a lingering creamy aftertaste. Made from pasteurised cow’s milk to a traditional Westmorland recipe.

Crofton – Thornby Moor Dairy
An unusual combination. One of the few cheeses made using mixed milks, both locally sourced cow’s and goat’s milk. The cheese has a natural rind and the texture is soft and moist.
