We hope to cater equally well for walkers and lounge lizards alike! The Eltermere really is a home from home with twelve individually styled and quirky bedrooms. Many of our rooms have stunning views over the gardens, fells and Elterwater Lake. All our ensuite rooms have been stylishly decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind. Guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary cream tea on arrival.
The original part of the Eltermere started life as a farmhouse with a collection of surrounding barns and this dates back as far as the late 1500’s.
However, in 1756 William Robinson remodelled the property into a more refined country residence from which it now gets its gentrified look without losing any of the original character. It remained a private home until the 1950’s when it was turned into a country house hotel.
