The original part of the Eltermere started life as a farmhouse with a collection of surrounding barns and this dates back as far as the late 1500's.
However in 1756 William Robinson remodelled the property into a more refined country residence from which it now gets its gentrified look without loosing any of the original character.
It remained a private home until the 1950's when it was turned into a country house hotel. It was purchased in September 2008 by Mark and Ruth Jones who are now running it as a family business.
We have re-named it the Eltermere which we think is more fitting with its original origins and gives guests the opportunity to let the Hotel become something for everyone.
